Guided Relaxation – Free

Quick relaxation techniques to help you restore balance in your life.

This course gives you simple and effective therapeutic techniques for learning relaxation. When you make it part of your routine relaxation helps compensate for what life takes out of you by restoring natural balance the way Nature intended.

Guided relaxation helps improve a sense of wellbeing by enabling you to step off the daily merry-go-round of demand. It's the perfect antidote to stress and even anxiety, and it does more. Clinical trails have shown that guided relaxation improves health and wellbeing, and promotes healing.

When you take a few minutes to relax deeply you are actually putting back some of what daily demands take out of us. It's easy to get caught up in the daily whirl and override our naturally occurring rest/activity cycle.

Sometimes this is absolutely necessary, but it comes at a cost; over time, we lose the ability to truly relax. With this course, you will learn how to restore that natural balance.

There are many benefits to being able to relax regularly and properly. For example, when you take time to relax deeply – even if only for a few minutes – you'll not only feel less stressed. Sleep often improves, along with creativity, energy, and a heightened sense of wellbeing.

I find it difficult to relax, can this course still help me?
The techniques in this course are simple but they take little time to learn. How much time varies from person to person. That said, many people are surprised how quickly they can learn to 'turn on' relaxation once they understand the techniques. Relaxation involves re-learning something which the human body knows how to do instinctively. It is quite common to have concerns about one's ability to relax. If you feel like that the best starting point is to put your concerns aside and approach the exercises with an open mind. The techniques included here are all widely used therapeutic practices used by healthcare practitioners in many settings. It is extremely rare, even when someone doubts their ability to relax, that with the right technique and encouragement, they cannot relax.
Are there any contexts or situations where these techniques shouldn't be used?
Of course. If you are doing anything which needs your full attention (driving, caring for others for example), you should not be using relaxation techniques. You must avoid listening to the audio files in this course – even in the background – in any situation where you'd put yourself or others at risk if you were distracted. or unable to give your full attention to what you are doing.
